Community guidelines

Our App main goals are: enable you awesome experience playing in Friendly Fire Esports Arenas and, connect you with the gaming community around you and serve you the most relevant content.

We want to take special care that you don’t see spam or inappropriate content.

These guidelines are our acceptable use policy and clarify what we do and don’t allow on the App. If you come across a story, post, comment or message that seems to break these rules, you can report it.

Please make sure you read and agreed on Terms of Service before reading and agreeing on this Community guidelines. Definitions from Terms of Service are valid here.

Safety

Our community team works hard to keep divisive, disturbing or unsafe content off the App. Some types of content we delete, other stuff we just hide from public areas.

• We remove porn, nudity and anything related to it. Please be careful with cosplays and streamers that like to cross this line.
• We remove content that physically or sexually exploits people. We work with law enforcement to address the sexualization of minors.
• We remove images that show gratuitous violence or glorify violence.
• We remove content that displays, rationalizes or encourages suicide, self-injury, eating disorders or substance abuse.
• We remove hate speech and discrimination, or groups and people that advocate either.
• We remove content used to threaten or organize violence or support violent organizations.
• We remove attacks on private people or sharing of personally identifiable information.
• We remove content used to sell or buy regulated goods, like drugs, alcohol, tobacco, firearms and other hazardous materials.
• We remove accounts that impersonate any person or organization.
• We remove harmful advice, content that targets individuals or protected groups and content created as part of disinformation campaigns.

In a few cases when there is a thin border between a good meme and non-safe content we will use common sense to make a judgment. Our decision cannot be challenged regarding this.

Intellectual property and other rights

To respect the rights of people on and off the App, please:

• Don’t infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or other rights.
• Don’t use Friendly Fire or Gamebay logo in a way that might confuse people. Please check our brand guidelines for details.
• Don’t do anything or post any content that violates laws or regulations.

Site security and access

To protect the App, we ask that you please:

• Don’t access, use or tamper with our systems or our technical providers’ systems.
• Don’t use any undocumented or unsupported method to access, search, scrape, download or change any part of the App.
• Don’t try to interfere with people on the App or our hosts or networks, like sending a virus, overloading, spamming or mail-bombing.
• Don’t share your password, let anyone access your account or do anything that might put your account at risk.
• Don’t break or circumvent our security measures or test the vulnerability of our systems or networks, except as part of an authorized Gamebay bug bounty program which can be available from time to time on https://gamebay.io
• Don’t try to reverse engineer our software.
• Don’t collect or store personally identifiable information from Gamebay or people on the App without permission.
• Don’t sell access to your account, username, or otherwise transfer account features for compensation.

You can’t use the App if it would be prohibited by EU sanctions.

Spam and quality

We want the App to be high-quality and useful, so we prioritize things that are actionable and provide consistent, enriching experiences. This includes:

• Original content that adds unique value.
• User-friendly formatting that makes it easy for people to find what they’re looking for.

We also remove spam and other disruptive content including:

• Unsolicited commercial messages.
• Attempts to artificially boost views and other metrics.
• Repetitive or unwanted posts.
• Off-domain redirects, cloaking or other ways of obscuring where a post leads.
• Misleading content or behavior.

Paid Partnership guideline

We define a Paid Partnership as any content on the App that features or is influenced by a business partner for an exchange of value, such as if a business partner has paid or otherwise incentivized a user to share the content.

All Paid Partnerships must disclose the commercial nature of their content. In addition to abiding by the Community Guidelines, users that participate in Paid Partnerships are responsible for complying with:

• All applicable laws and regulations.
• All applicable disclosures required to indicate the commercial nature of your content (such as the use of #ad to indicate that your content is a Paid Partnership).
• Promoted Pins must also abide by our Advertising Guidelines.

To prevent inauthentic content and behavior:

• Make sure you’re posting relevant content with relevant tags.
• Keep the content of your posts high-quality and avoid spammy behavior.
• Share or react to content you have an authentic interest in.

Don’t incentivize or pay people to distribute content in large volumes.

Feel free to use affiliate links and other pay-per-click payment structures as long as you’re not spammy. Keep in mind, we only support certain third-party analytics right now.

Contest guidelines

We encourage contests like giveaways but keep in mind:

• Don't use it as leverage to build a huge number of followers
• Don't suggest that Friendly Fire or Gamebay sponsors or endorses you or the promotion.
• Don't allow more than one entry per person.
• Review our brand guidelines for general rules about using the Friendly Fire and Gamebay brands.
• Lastly, be sure to follow all relevant laws and regulations.

How we make changes to this policy

We may change this policy from time to time and if we do, we’ll post any changes here. If you continue to use the App after those changes are in effect, you agree to the new policy. If the changes are significant, we may provide a more prominent notice or get your consent, as required by law.
